To be honest, I love reading. Writing? Not so much. Mostly, I write in a set duration, setting, and within the confines of a given topic. There isn't much room for an out-of-the-world creative plot for an average student like me. Perhaps, for the elites of the language.
During the tests, I don't write for the pleasure of it. Rather, I write for the marks, the grades, trying to pen down something that I think the teacher would like to see. It's really fake, IMHO.
There is a certain charm to writing. You are the master of the plot, the characters, and you get to fabricate adventures that leave the readers' hearts racing and asking for more. The sense of satisfaction when you know you've crafted something nice from scratch. A form of art too, I think? A way to express your innermost feelings or thoughts subtly.
Well, so here I am. Trying to write for the pleasure of it. Whoopee!
Let the writing begin! :)
